Class overview
Pilates Matwork with Small Equipment is a flowing, full body class designed to build strength, improve tone, and support confident movement in everyday life.
In this class we work with a range of small equipment including the roller, over ball, spine corrector, and Pilates ring. These pieces of equipment give feedback, support alignment, and help you access muscles more effectively, so the whole body works together in an integrated way.
The pace is a little quicker than Pilates for Ease and Strength, with exercises linked together in a gentle flow that develops strength, stability, and mobility across the whole body. There is a clear focus on improving muscle tone, supporting healthy bones, and helping you feel stronger and more capable in your movement. This class suits anyone who enjoys a more active session and would like to progress their Pilates practice while still moving with control and awareness.
You will leave feeling stronger, more upright, and more connected through your whole body.

Frequently asked questions
What do I need to bring to class?
All mats and small equipment are provided. You are welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing that allows easy movement is ideal. Classes are usually done in socks or barefoot.
How many people are in each class?
Classes are small, with a maximum of 8 people. This allows for plenty of individual guidance and support.
Do I need previous Pilates experience?
No experience is needed, though this class is best suited to anyone who is already reasonably active and looking to build on that. If you are unsure whether it is the right starting point for you, just get in touch and Helen will help you decide.
Is this class right for me?
This is the more active of the two classes, using small equipment to build strength and support everyday movement. If you would prefer a slower, more supported pace, the 10:30 Pilates for Ease and Strength class may be a better fit. Not sure? Get in touch and Helen will guide you.
What if I have an injury or ongoing pain?
Please mention anything relevant when you enquire so exercises can be adapted where needed. If you are managing ongoing pain or returning after injury, the 10:30 Pilates for Ease and Strength class may be more suitable as a starting point.
What happens after I enquire?
Once you submit your details, Helen will be in touch to confirm your place and answer any questions you might have.
What is the cancellation policy?
Please give 24 hours notice where possible if you are unable to attend.
